When I first came into the Vineyard movement, I was so excited! God had done so much for me, and I wanted to give something back to Him. I just didn’t know how or where to serve.
I began in the kid’s area. I stayed there for a year; by the end I had a twitch over my left eye & called everyone “honey”! It was not a good fit!
After that I volunteered one summer in the coffee area- alas, not a good fit either! They were not disappointed when I left.
When I finally discovered the prayer ministry team, there was this enormous mixture of relief & excitement- I had found my place. There was a lot of learning- there still is a lot of learning, but lifting someone up to God, and seeing Him work in their life is the most thrilling thing in the world to me. It’s what they call in the Vineyard a “get to” not a “got to”. I get to do this!
